The potential for climbing and ski mountaineering in this area is huge. There are many easily accessed peaks with a good range of snow and ice routes.

Access

From the road to Lake Titicaca from La Paz turn off on the signposted road to Peñas – this is about an hour from La Paz. Follow the road towards Peñas, turning right onto a dirt road just before the bridge when the road heads into the hills. Follow the dirt road until shortly after crossing the only significant bridge on the road where you turn right onto another rocky road. This road now leads all the way to Jankho Laya and the peaks before it.
