Ancohuma is the centre piece of this area with other nearby peaks being considerably smaller and generally reasonably straight forward, although there is scope for short technical routes.

The western aspect of Ancohuma and the rock peaks of Pico Gotico and Rumi Mallku are accessed via Laguna Glacier. The more remote eastern aspect of Ancohuma is accessed via cocoyo and Laguna Blanca.
